CHARACTER NAME: Wilhelm Blackwell Age: 42 Gender: Male Affiliation: Beacon Faculty Race: Human Aura Color: Dark Navy blue Semblance: A nearly impenetrable wall that runs off of his own courage. This wall can soak up abuse and can stop up to and including some of the largest Grimm from a dead sprint to dead in their tracks. However, this wall is directly connected to Wilhelm’s pain threshold, and all of it catches up to him later. He has suffered broken bones, internal bleeding, concussions and more days after a battle from overusing this ability. Normally he will feel the consequences of using his semblance 24 hours after using it. Weapon: Valorious Haste. A large caliber railgun that has been passed down from his grandfather. This weapon is capable of punching through all but the very thickest of armors. At will, he can fold the rifle out into a Lucerne, a beaked hammer with a sharp spear point on top. In this form, Wilhelm can fight enemies in melee and still keep them at a distance. He swings it vertically in order to pierce with the beaked end, or horizontally to bludgeon with the blunt end. He also uses the spear point for exactly what you’d expect. As a railgun, he typically charges it with yellow dust, which makes the electrical charge that propels the projectile through the gun even stronger, which sends it farther and provides more stopping power. He also uses violet dust to increase the kinetic force behind each round, which makes them heavier. Additional weapons and armor: From his military days, Wilhelm carries a wooden-handled trenching tool that doubles as an axe on his belt and his officer’s pistol in his shoulder holster. He has a concealed heel spur in both boots and a knife under his coat for absolute emergencies. Appearance: Wilhelm is a tall, imposing man standing at 6’2” and weighing 250 pounds. He is muscular, and his skin is covered in scars from his many bouts with Grimm and the like. He is quite proper and stands with a straight posture, so he looks as tall as he really is. He has dark green eyes, and he has short, brown hair and a thick moustache to match his beard. He has flecks of grey from many years of combat experience, and a very few early wrinkles on his face. He always keeps himself neatly groomed and clean, believing that personal hygiene is essential for professionalism. When in combat or a formal setting, which he normally is, he wears his old military officer’s uniform, which he had spent so much time in that he feels most comfortable in it. It’s a dark blue trench coat with gold trim an black pants. It comes with metal bracers and shin guards, a thin sash, and a ceremonial brass gorget around his neck. He keeps his weapon in a leather boot on his back and wears a shoulder holster for his pistol as a separate rig. Personality: Wilhelm is a very proper and astute gentleman. His time in the military taught him to be very professional and serious when there was a task at hand, but the years away have helped him develop his own form of conduct, which would seem almost comical to an outside observer. He is not too proud nor cocky, but he is very confident in his abilities and that of his fellows. He is normally quite calm and mild-mannered, preferring to make idle small talk or quiet chit chat. Very rarely, he can be pushed to the brink where he will snap. In these moments, Wilhelm is completely silent and merely focuses harder on the thing that is antagonizing him until it is either neutralized or otherwise dealt with, viciously attacking and never letting down. His fuse is quite long, though, and these occurrences are few and far between. He is normally one to go with the flow or roll with the punches, and is so brave that he has been known to smoke from his pipe while in direct combat, or even sip tea on a battlefield. He doesn’t flinch from even the most life-threatening situations, though he knows there’s a time to be brave and a time to be smart enough to retreat. The major flaw with his courage, though, is that it always gets him more than he bargained for, always volunteering to leave a combat zone last or be the first to step into the unknown. Some view his actions as foolhardy, but he believes he is just doing his duty. History: As a child, Wilhelm Lancastre Blackwell was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His family owned a rather large estate in Vale, being the owners of a large parts manufacturing company for construction equipment and mining vehicles. This never interested Wilhelm, and he took to daydreaming about adventures in the wilds outside the walls and gates of his family estate, fighting creatures of Grimm like the hunters in his stories. As a teen, “Will” Blackwell was known among the upper class of society as a scoundrel, and when he enrolled in Beacon Academy, it further solidified the notion. He had always been going off on his own and practicing the skills his grandfather had taught him under his father’s nose, and he was good enough to get in based on nothing but a practical skill test. He studied hard and trained every day, never giving up his childhood dream of being a hunter. In his adult years, Sir Wilhelm Lancastre Blackwell joined the Vale military after graduating top of his class at Beacon. He fought off countless Grimm, and saw more than his fair share of death. He lost more comrades than he could count, and these events left him somewhat jaded. However, due to his prowess on the battlefield, he very quickly ascended the ranks and was a key officer at the age of 35. However, he was not happy with how his military career was turning out, and longed for a field position once more. He was honorably discharged, and a grand ceremony was held where he was told he was welcome back at any time. Now, seven years later, Sir Wilhelm Lancastre Blackwell is the headmaster of the esteemed Beacon Academy that he graduated from so long ago after the recent and unexpected death of the previous headmaster. Perhaps fate has ordained his return to this place, but he doesn't think about it. He does his absolute best to train his students and prepare them for what awaits them when they graduate.
