The rules for character creation
First of all, if you haven't read our forum's general rules or FAQ, you should definitely do so here: Rules and FAQ.
After you've done that(or if you already have), there are some basic but very important rules about creating your character that everybody should be aware of.
1. We are an account-per-character RP. This makes organization and record keeping much easier. Make sure your character account's display name in the settings is "Firstname Lastname" like this: Weiss Schnee.(To do this, go to Profile>Edit Profile>Personal>Display Name) You CAN register multiple accounts to one email address, so don't think that you have to make a new email account for every character.
2. Canon characters are not allowed under any circumstances. From Shadows is purely OC and shall remain that way.
3. Try your hardest to share your plotlines. Familial relationships, storylines, etc. Be sure to include others in the fun!
4. When creating your character, keep in mind not to make them overpowered, and please try not to be too tropey. Get creative! A character should be a unique person, and can be a reflection of your own personality or something entirely different and unique to only your imagination. Remember that not everyone has to be a dark and edgey loner with a tragic past to be cool!
5. You are allowed as many characters as you want, so long as you can keep up with them all. If at any time you feel you have too many characters and need to drop a few, let a staff member know so they can be put in an inactive statuts for you to come back to them.
6. You are not allowed to post any threads in the "Kingdom of Vale" In Character role play area until a moderator has officially accepted your character application and moved it to the "Accepted Characters" section.
7. Before blowing up the shoutbox, give staff members the chance to see your request. We'll usually get right on it.
8. If a staff member asks you to elaborate on something in your application, be sure the explanation makes it into your application. We aren't telepathic, so explaining it to just one person won't cut it.
9. Remember, this isn't a fanfiction with just your character. Others will interact with your creation; make sure they aren't some unstopable force just because you decided they can't be beaten. This will be considered powerplaying and your character will not get accepted.
10. When creating a Hunting Animal character, you must have an owner that is another character and need to be a canine or bird of prey. The reason for this is because most other animals simply don't have the discipline and obedience required to stay alive in a battlefield.
11. When choosing a Face Claim for your character, make sure it isn't one of the already claimed faces on the list at the bottom of this thread: Identity Crisis!
