These rules are to be read and followed by all forum members. They are subject to change at the discretion of the administrators. Each rule has a reason and a purpose that a staff member would be more than willing to explain if you are curious.
1. Staff members have the final say in all situations and disputes regaurding rules and regulations. Their word is final. Failure to respect a staff member's ruling is grounds for account deactivation and even banning.
2. Respect all other players and staff members. If you have an issue with another player or staff member, bring it to the attention of a different staff member. Do not try to deal with the situation if you think it will escalate. NO DRAMA.
3. From Shadows is a 212 Forum RPG. The explanation of this rating can be found here. Strong language is permitted, just be mature about it. We are SFW, however we cannot monitor activity on external sites such as Chatzy. What you do with your free time and characters is your own business, just don't talk about it on the site.
4. Cheating will not be tolerated on From Shadows. If you are caught powerplaying, metagaming, or engaging in other types of cheating, you will be issued a warning. Failure to comply will result in a one-week deactivation. Further disreguard for others' right to have fun will be met with a ban.
5. We have a minimum post length requirement of one(1) paragraph per post. When posting, try and make sure your writing is free of mistakes and is coherent. Be sure to type in English and be mindful of your grammar and punctuation. When posting in-character, try and be descriptive and give other players something with substance to read. Remember, you're writing for an audience!
6. Failure to post with a character within 1 month will result in an "Inactive" status wherein the character cannot post or reply to threads. To lift this status, simply inform a staff member that you have returned or otherwise are able to post with them. If your character is on a team, two months of inactivity will result in removal from that team. Should you return to that character, you may make an appeal to your former teammates, and if they accept you back you may rejoin the team.
7. When posting in character, write only in the third person past tense. This standardizes the writing format in threads and helps avoid confusion.
8. The OOC CBox is OOC only. If you would like to chat in character, please use the IC CBoxe or go to an online chatroom service such as Chatzy. Keep discussion in the CBoxes SFW.
9. If an IC thread goes for one month without a reply, it will be archived. An archived thread may be recovered if its participants petition for it. If you have completed a thread and you and the other participants would like to archive it, simply ask a staff member. Otherwise it will automatically be archived.
