CHARACTER NAME: Lucatiel Lazuli Age: 18 Gender: Female Affiliation: Student Race: Human Aura Color: Light Blue Semblance: Polarity. Lucatiel can control, to a limited degree, magnetic materials at will. The primary condition of this is that she has to have made contact with the object in question before she can actually manipulate it. She can only move these objects, not crush or otherwise harm them, and she has to concentrate harder on controlling items she has had very little contact with. Items she is more familiar with manipulating are much easier for her to control. Weapon: Puzzling Curiousty and Check Mate. Puzzling Curiousity is a 3 foot long hand-and-a-half sword whose blade is actually fragmented and kept together by a very strong titanium wire with a steel core. The wire coils inside the hilt and holds the sword together until she flicks it into its whip form. When in this form, the blade is strung along the wire as 3 inch segments, about 2 inches apart, making it a total of 5 feet long. When fighting with her weapon in this form, she normally uses her semblance to help her control the motion of the blade, whirling it around herself as a defensive coccoon and lashing out anytime she sees an opening. When it is in its sword form, she uses broad swings and thrusts, fighting with footwork and balance to find an opportunity to deploy the weapon in the form that she's more comfortable with. Check Mate is is a parrying dagger with a small-caliber pistol hidden within. She uses it to deflect enemy blows, and for the occasional thrust. When she uses the pistol, its normally to extend the range of a thrust, and typically to catch enemies off-guard for follow-up attacks rather than actually defeat them. Additionally, the barrel can swivel around and face the opposite dorection so she can throw the dagger as she fires it, hurling it quite fast and with great accuracy at foes. She'll normally enhance her weapon with blue dust, throwing waves of water at enemies, or light blue dust, making her blade freeze whatever it touches. Additional weapons and armor:N/A Appearance: A small girl, Lucatiel stands at just barely 5'4" and weighs 120 pounds. Her eyes are an icy blue and her hair is dark blue that gets lighter towards the ends, ending in white frosted tips. Her skin is pale and her build slight, her assets being modest in nature. Her hunting garb consists of a blue tunic with gold trim, blue stockings under blue thigh boots and a mask shaped like an angular butterfly. She always wears her gold headband, even when in school uniform to keep the hair out of her face. The hairband itself was a gift from her father. In a more casual setting, she typically wears oversized sweatshirts and skirts with thigh-highs, sticking to the cooler colors of the spectrum. Personality:Lucatiel is a little snobish. When asked dumb questions or being addressed by somebody she doesn't particularly enjoy being around, she'll just drown them out by pretending to be listening to music or fiddling with her scroll. If said person decides to bug her too much, she'll typically be quite blunt and let them know that they're bothering her, either walking away or busying herself with something else. Otherwise, she's generally quiet and somewhat hermetic, simply eager to be done with her years at Beacon. When one gets to know Lucatiel, she's actually a girl of many anxieties. She feels a sense of obligation and duty to her family name and this weighs heavily upon her to be as successful as she can. She constantly frets about how she presents herself, but will never admit how self-concious she is. She tries to remain proper and behave accordingly, but under the surface of neutrality she just wants to be a normal girl for once in her life. History:Lucatiel had a fortunate upbringing and was raised to be prim and proper. The Lazuli family is a powerful family in the Dust industry, owning several refineries and even a small mine. While they are nowhere near the level of Schnee Industries, Lazuli Dust Ltd. is very influential in their respective field. This wealth has given Lucatiel opportunities that most other children never have. When she was young, she was given lessons in etiquette and private tutors to teach her arythmetic and language, servants served her every meal and cleaned for her, and she always had everything she ever wanted. As a preteen, she became more aware of her situation and felt stiffled by her life of luxury, seeking solice in the adventures she could have in her imagination when playing outside or reading stories of hunters and huntresses. She became a bit of a rebel, and this behavior carried on into her early teen years. During this time, she discovered her Semblance, and she knew that she should enroll in a combat school to learn to harness it and get away from her life of privelage. When she told her father about her decision, she thought he would be angry with her. Instead, he was happy that his daughter wanted to go out into the world and gain experience for herself, expressing his joy in how proud she would make the family name by adding another talented huntess to it. This bothered Lucatiel somewhat, because it didn't satisfy her desire to rebel, but she stuck with it anyway. She quickly grew out of her rebelious attitude when she was subjected to the reality of combat school, and eventually found her comfort zone with the weapons she wields now. She strived and worked very hard to become the very best she could, ascending the ranks and graduating from the private combat school she attended almost at the top of her class. She enrolled in Beacon to continue her education, and continues to work very hard to excel.
