The roar of the vertibird's engines died down as Autumn stepped off the landing pad and the airship lifted up into the air and flew away. The redhead looked up at the impressive building that loomed ahead of her. It was certainly intimidating, and yet very exciting to know that she had made it this far. Several years' worth of progress now stood before her in the form of brick and mortar, polished marble columns, and stained glass. Sighing, she shouldered her weapon, Showstopper, and tooke a few tentative step towards the school.
She stopped, overcome again with overwhelming feelings of aprehension. She kneeled and pretended to lace up a boot, shaking her head to try and shake the feeling. She knew it was silly of her to feel this way when she had fought Grimm and survived, which should have been much scarier than this. She hoped nobody could tell that she was fretting over nothing.
"Hello Beacon!!" The fluffy haired newbie bellowed as he stepped off the airship and onto the concrete of beacons pathways. Nothing felt better then taking his first steps to becoming the hunter he's always fantasized about. The only issue Aries would have now is to find some people to make friendly with and perhaps make his stay at Beacon that much more exciting.
Taking his time searching the crowd for some friendly faces Aries found himself stumbling over a crouched brown haired girl. Losing his balance and flailing mid fall Aries found himself tumbling over onto his back and blinking out the embarrassment he was sure no one saw, he hoped no one saw at least. "Great way to make the first impression on this school with your ass laid out." The ram mumbled to himself sarcastically

After taking a moment and thinking that she had finally collected herself, Autumn was just about to stand up when something collided with her back that nearly bowled her over. She barely got a hand out in front of her to stop herself from falling completely over, looking up to see a wirey-haired boy sprawled in front of her. She blushed deeply, embarrassed that she had already caused such a scene on day one. Before she knew it, she was on her feet with a hand outstretched to pick up the other prospective student.
"Sorry," she said, her left hand outstretched, "I shouldn't have stopped right in the middle of the walkway. I just figured with it being so wide people would walk around, but I guess it's sort of my fault," the redhead was still somewhat nervous about such a huge step in her life, but her voice was steady. "My name's Autumn, by the way. Autumn Knight."
Aries stared up for just a tad too long before coming back to his senses he was always bemused when ever his accidental antics made it so he'd make friends. Thinking back on it even now it was how he met his best friend falling out of a tree trying to retrieve the damned hover board contraption he was working on. 'Focus on the now dumbass!!' The afro haired student mentally slapped himself and accepted the hand after a few dazed seconds of zoning out.
"Yeah no sweat happens all the time to me kinda." Aries dumbly admitted as he was helped off the ground. 'No time like the present right.' The internal voice spoke up and kicked Aries into shaking the girls hand before introducing himself. "Well I'm Aries, first year and overall not as clumsy as you'd think." throwing the last bit in for a little justification was just for his own pride more than his new acquaintance.
Autumn smiled at the boy's humorous remarks and way of speaking as she pulled him off of the ground. She accepted the handshake and frowned a little when he asked for her name. "Like I said before, I'm Autumn," she said, unclasping her hand from his. So far Aries seemed a little more clumsy than he was letting on, but the redhead just shrugged it off to be polite. "Are those bracers your weapons?" She asked, motioning to the thick bracers the boy wore around each wrist. She had seen plenty of fist weapons in her time at combat school, but these seemed different in an interesting way, lacking any sort of ammunition or blades.
"Oh yeah hehe sorry didn't catch that the first time." Aries spouted as he rubbed the back of his neck slightly embarrassed when realizing his lack of tact was already showing. Luckily Autumn seemed fine getting onto a different topic entirely and this was one the woolhead was ever so excited about as his weapons weren't all that noticeable to most. "You'd be correct these bad boys are called the 'Gale Force Drivers' and they are also a product of my own design. Aries rambled on with one of his biggest smiles. Talking about weapons often brought him to a rather excited mood.
"Wanna see what they can do?" Aries questioned with no real intent on letting the girl give an answer in time as he'd already started the turbine on his left arm, and brought about a small vacuum. forgetting to point it in a direction away from his newfound acquaintance the wool head forgot even on it's lightest settings it had a rather strong pull force. And before actually realizing the repercussions Aries began a whole new speech on how it works. "See they use the idea of a turbine spinning to create strong winds that allow me to get into a more effective range for my fighting style which is a little bit of everywhere, but hey it knocks em down so no worries there."

Autumn only had a second to brace herself as she heard the wirey-haired student's weapon fire-up. She was glad she was wearing her somewhat heavy half-plate armor, because it saved her from toppling over. Instead, she simply slid across the ground towards him. She was intrigued by the effect of this weapon, and wondered if it worked the other way as well. The redhead smiled and chuckled a little bit, looking forward to what Beacon else had to offer in terms of variety. She was excited to see other students' weapons and fighting styles, and was more than thrilled at the prospect of sparring with them.
"Those are very interesting indeed," she said, taking a step back, "would you care to see my weapon?" Without hesitating, Autumn drew the 5 1/2 foot long zweihander, its red edge glowing faintly in the sunlight. "I named it Showstopper. The original model was a gift from my dad, but I've made improvements over time, and this is the current rendition." She flicked the selector on the handle, deploying the weapon into its greatbow form, the blade folding on third from the tip and one third from the hilt, the hilt itself opening up and sliding midway up the blade to act as the grip. It automatically strung itself, the taught titanium wire being held in place by internal pulleys, making it act like a compound bow.
Autumn planted it firmly on the ground and drew the string back all the way to her cheek, then let it go slowly. "Here," she said, holding the weapon out to Aries, "Test the draw." While he was a bit spindly and slim-looking, Autumn was sure he could pull the string all the way back with no problem. After all, he was strong enough to have an unarmed fighting style as his primary weapon, so he was surely very strong indeed.
With a flash of glee Aries happily took the redhead up on her offer and took hold of the handle. Hefting the bow and testing its weight Aries understood almost immediately how this could be effective on Grimm. Attempting to mimic Autumn's actions of placing it on the ground and slowly pulling it towards him he could see just how much strength it would take to fire this thing and he could not imagine this being fired with rapid succession unless she trained her ass off, which would make sense seeing as she is at Beacon after all. Losing his focus Aries' grip slipped and caused a loud pang from the contact made with the wire and his bracer. "Whew... that would've hurt like hell." The wool head chuckled out after a sigh of relief.
"Must be Pretty strong yourself to use this hefty beauty." Aries complimented with his ever growing smile while he handed Autumn back her weapon. "After we get settled in hope you don't mind a little sparring match I'd like to see what you could actually do with that thing." The wool head proposed. Hoping he didn't overstep any boundaries or sounded too cocky he resisted the urge to crack his neck out of habit and put his hands behind his head so they didn't get too fidgety.
Autumn smiled, enjoying Aries' enthusiasm. He was certainly somebody she could get along with, anyways. He had the eyes of somebody who shared her passion for the hunt, the profession that everybody was here to study. "I'll definitely have to take you up on that," she said, accepting her weapon and flicking the switch to break it back down into its zweihander form. She sheathed and shouldered the weapon, motioning towards the monumental stone building before them. "We should go now, though. Wouldn't want to be late for the opening ceremonies." The redhead started off after the other students, assuming they knew where they were going. She looked at her gauntleted right hand, where Rejection sat dormant. She hadn't gotten around to telling Aries about it, but maybe it was better to leave something as a surprise for next time.
It was bright outside. Too bright. "I can't believe I slept the whole trip here" Dacre thought to himself. Stepping of the vertibird, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath letting the fresh air rejuvenate himfrom the jet lag. He took a look around at the place that will be his home for the next few years. It was nothing like he expected, it was all so regal and intimidating. A wave of uncertainty washed over him. He hesitated for a moment, then began walking towards the main building. Up ahead, a bushy haired kid was lying on the ground, apparently having tripped over a girl who seemed to be lacing up her boot. "At least I'm not the only one nervous about coming here" Dacre whispered trying to reassure himself. He had no choice though, this was about more than just him and his comfort zone. If left up to him, he never would subject himself to these kind of awkward social situations like attending classes and sharing a dorm with people he doesn't know at all, but it wasn't up to him, at least, not entirely. A promise was made, and Dacre never breaks a promise especially to someone he loves. After a moment of watching the clumsy faunus get up and laugh off the incident, Dacre steels his nerves and keeps moving forward, not wanting to be late for for the beginning of his journey to a new life.
