[OOC: Here's how this works: You may reply in this thread as your character listening to the headmaster giving the speach explaining the rules and how the initiation works if you would like. It is not required, but definitely encouraged. You may post a team formation thread with your entire team if you would like, but this is also not required.]


Will stood on the cliff that overlooked the Emerald Forest, surveying the beautiful and dangerous landscape. He made it a point to arrive twenty minutes early, enjoying the morning sun and cool, late Summer breeze. He sighed and took a sip of his tea, knowing that this would be the true beginning of his real work at Beacon. He had taken extra care to press and starch his uniform, polish all the brass and steel, and comb his beard. Despite this, the man still looked a little older than he really was.

Students began showing up, first one at a time, then in larger and larger groups. Will watched and knew that he would be responsible for all their lives in the coming years from this moment forward, and today he would be sending them on a very dangerous mission. He consoled himself with the knowledge that they wouldn't have made it here if they didn't know what they were doing, remaining confident that these were the best and brightest that Vale had to offer.

When it appeared that everyone who was going to show up had done so, Will gave a curt nod to Cassia, his Assistant Headmaster, and paced to the center of the students' field of view. "I would like to formally welcome you all to Beacon. As of today, each of you is a candidate for scholarship at this illustrious place of learning. But there is a small test you must perform before achieving this, which is the reason I've asked all of you to meet me here today," Will turned and made eye contact with as many students as he could as he spoke, pulling his pipe out of a pocket, but holding off on lighting it.

"Within the Emerald Forest there is a temple, somewhere to the West. You are to find a partner, who will be the first person you make eye contact with, and get to this temple in one piece. Once there, you will find Relics. You and your partner are to grab one Relic and bring it back here. The pads you are standing on will launch you through the air, and you are to use your own landing strategy to infiltrate the forest. Be wary, for the creatures of Grimm are lying in wait within. That is all." With that, the Hunter turned and stepped aside, giving Cassia the signal to start launching students. He struck a match an lit his pipe, hoping things would go according to plan.

[Lucatiel Lazuli]

The sound of other students launching was more than enough to set Lucatiel on edge. Of course, she had practiced this sort of thing several times, but she was so nervous about this day that she couldn't even choke down breakfast, which she knew she would regret later. The girl gripped Puzzling Curiousity tightly, with Check Mate stowed safely on her belt. The parrying dagger would be of little use to her when she was flung several hundred feet in the air. From the corner of her eye, Lucatiel could tell she was next to be catapulted.

After a split second, the pad the girl was standing on threw her into the sky. She quickly adjusted her body to be streamlined, allowing her to cut through the air and soar as high as possible. She then spread her arms and legs so she could get a decent look at the terrain before deciding on a point of entry. She deployed Puzzling Curiousity into its whip form, picking a nice thick tree to aim for. She flicked the weapon at the trunk, using her semblance to nudge it just a bit so it would wrap around the trunk and corkscrew her down, killing all her momentum and allowing her to land perfectly on her feet.

Once she had landed, she checked the direction she was moving in and started heading in the direction the Headmaster had indicated. It simply wouldn't do to waste any time on her first mission.

[Casia Rabt]

Standing besides Wilhelm Casia began to take note of most students and silently assessing them as he let the headmaster give his speech while he stood next to him with his stoic expression of sleep deprived. Hands in pockets as he remained standing with his terrible posture seemingly unblinking eyes Casia seemed as if he was forcibly ripped from his bed and dragged here, while his counterpart stood as dapper as ever. Whomever said looking the art was important didn't seem to forward that memo to Casia. 

Once the headmaster finished up his speech the launching process had begun, which brought this purple haired old man a slight pinch of joy which he revealed with a rather awkward wave, and creepy smile shouting at the kids "Don't forget to have fun out there troopers!!" If the headmaster's speech didn't scare them a bit before hand then his face might do the trick for most of them. As he kept his eyes on the quickly depleting launch pads Casia decided to speak up to his counterpart still holding his weird smile."See any winners from the bunch so far ?"

[Roja 'Red' Hayasa]

Roja listened to every word the head master told them before each student was launched through the sky via the pads they were standing on. He saw the nervous look on several students as they were sent flying. But he was different. He had a blank expression in his eyes which were the only thing a person would see seeing how his scarf was covering his mouth.

Before he was sent flying, he took his sword from his back and readied himself. As he flew through the air he brought it in front of him and started slashing at the trees in his path. He didn't have any fancy way of landing with style like other students so he had to do a more dangerous way of landing. Slashing the trees slowly took away from his momentum as he got closer to the ground.

But despite his efforts he still landed with a violently crash which created a small crater near Lucatiel. After a good minute of laying in it Roja slowly got up from it and grabbed his sword from next to him.

[Aries Cross]

With as much grace as a penguin in a jungle Aries soared over the canopy of the forest with his mind lacking most of what he should have been retaining for this very moment. Having zoned out for most of the Headmaster's speech and only picking up key points seemed like an issue he'd have to deal with later as he was pretty close to face planting into the dirt from a probably more than 500 plus yards in the air if he didn't get his focus on his landing strategy. 

Starting up his bracers on all his limbs Aries began collecting himself as he slowed his descent with the collecting of air from the Gale Force Drivers. With that helping him keep his air time prolonged the ram was able to flare his aura as he found a clearing in the forest and chose his landing zone. Dropping from the sky would still be a task even with his reduced speed thanks to fanning himself out and the bracers making him less aerodynamic he was still 177 pounds coming in close to 70 miles per hour. Luckily This Ram knows how to land most times on his feet. As The wooly haired student came in contact with the ground his semblance kicked in and took the brunt of his landing force away by allowing him to bound once off his feet and into a roll leaving a nice pair of foot shaped craters in the ground while he rolled back onto his legs and into a jog attempting to use the little extra boost he got from his roll to push him towards his end goal.

"Next stop to partner station!!" The ram shouted as he continued his jog into the forest towards what he'd assume was the right way.

[Alibaster Key]

"Why did I have to be late!"

Alibaster thought to himself as he desperately rushed toward the emerald forest. He had barely had time to even arrive at the Academy before he was being rushed off to the iniation. He hadn't even managed to find his dorm yet. And now he had to go meet with the headmaster. The young man was starting to think this was all going to be too much.

By the time he had finally shown up he had just managed to catch the tail end of the headmasters speech. After a few moments of watching other students being launched off into the woods the young man nervously made his way to the front. "So I need to find a reli-" His speech was suddenly cut short by a sudden nod from the headmaster and a snap under his feet.

The next thing he knew he was flying through the air much like the students he had seen when he arrived. In a split second the young man found himself slightly panicked, his hands quickly reaching over to grasp his weapons crest and Banner as the air rushed past him.

It seemed like he was flying for hours, although he knew that couldn't be right as he found himself decending toward the treeline. As he got closer he realized he was going to have to land somehow. He quickly swung his sword forward, catching a high up branch and sending himself swinging forward toward the ground. Although the young man still was traveling quite fast as he zipped just above the ground. Suddenly he was presented with another obstacle as he flew straight toward a large oak tree. Raising up his shield he slammed into the wood, the pneumatic spring in his shield activating and sending him skidding backward in the dirt. As soon as he finally felt himself feel stable on solid ground the young man let out a sigh of relief. Making his way toward the direction he thought the headmaster had pointed.

[Autumn Knight]

Autumn stretched her shoulders and legs briefly while listening to the headmaster giving his speech, then kneeled in a ready position to prepare to be thrown into the air. The headmaster concluded his speech and one by one the other prospective students started getting flung into the air. Autumn's heart began to pound as students that were closer and closer to her were being thrown, antiipating the moment. She had landed from high places before, but this time was different because it was going to be her future on the line instead of just a practice mission.

When the pad beneath her feet sprung up the redhead jumped with it just to get a little more air time. She spread her arms and legs to survey the terrain, picking out a good landing spot and drawing Showstopper, flicking the selector to change it into its bow form. She turned around to face the sky and tucked into the foliage of the treeline's upper canopy, holding her weapon out and snagging as many flexible branches as she could on the titanium bow string. This slowed her descent consideraly, and she was able to touch the ground in a perfect landing. The branches she caught bent deeply under her weight, and she swiped the sharp edge of the limb across them so it would cut them off and free her. Flicking the selector to change the weapon back to a zweihander, she discerned which direction was West and began jogging.

[Soma Brume]

Soma had barely made it to the site of the test on time. The headmaster had just started speaking about what the test was going to consist of, which excited the faunus. She wasn't normally the excitable type, but here she was at Beacon about to take the entrance exam, an achievment she had worked her whole life to accomplish. Most students from other combat schools couldn't say they'd taken their careers this far because they simply didn't have what it took. She had left friends behind in Haven, but it wasn't a big deal. Her father had insisted that she recieve training from Beacon since he himself had been an alumnist, and that suited her just fine.

She had spent so much time in thought that she'd nearly missed the student next to her getting launched, but barely snapped out of it in time to prepare. When she left the ground the intense adrenaline rush hit her hard, and she had to focus on not hyperventilating just to stay calm and find a place to land. Seeing nothing that suited her landing style, she turned around and hitched her right knee, Furious Recompense, which fired a pair of .50 caliber rounds simultaneously from both barrels. She used the recoil to keep herself speeding along in the air.

Once she saw a decent spot, she let herself get closer and closer to the ground before unloading the entire reserve into the trees below her, slowing her down and creating a litter of soft dirt and leaves for her to land on at the same time. She let herself fall the rest of the way, taking care to land on her organic knee so she wouldn't get dirt into the workings of the mechanical one. She produced a spare clip of bullets from her belt and opened the bolt on her leg, sliding them in and flicking the now empty strip-clip away. The bolt slid back into place and locked with a heavy metallic CLACK!, and she started walking in the direction she thought the headmaster had indicated.

[Piper Just]

This was the first time in a long time Piper has had actual stage fright as she's performed live time and time again yet this was felt so much different. The headmaster's speech was only a soft background buzz as she shifted uncomfortably on the platform putting her weight from one leg to another in a nervous dance of sorts. trying her best to tune back into the ongoing speech and get her mind off her possible failure as a huntress. Hugging tight to Harmony's End she plucked at the newly tuned strings with her eyes screwed shut. 'You can do this Piper make mother proud of you again girl.' Piper thought to herself before taking a few deep breaths to calm herself.

With the student next to her sent flying off her eyes shot open with a look of terror and she had already prepped a scream for her launch but choked on it as she was sent flying into the Emerald forest literally holding onto her bass for dear life.

Finally reaching her peak climax point and slowing down the musician realized it was to prove to herself now that she was made of the right stuff to be a huntress for Rememnent. Readjusting her grip on Harmony's End Piper began playing a song her mother taught her a while back when she was just learning how to use her beloved bass. As her descent became imminent she pushed through to the climax of the song and finally relaxed enough to breathe for the first time since she'd been launched. Allowing her semblance to increase the volume of her chords as well as the bass output slowing her down from the oncoming treetops she was going to pass through soon enough. with the last chord still ringing Piper flipped Harmony's End into an axe like grip using the open end to catch onto a tree limb and halt her fall finally allowing her to drop onto the forest floor with a soft thud and begin the start of her journey at Beacon.

"Now which way are those relics?" Piper said to herself with a soft smile painting her face.

[Dacre Tyr]

As his turn drew ever nearer, Dacre fitted his Colmillo de Luna, a high strength, steel polymer shield, to his left arm. He wasn't really sure how this will all play out but there was one thing he was sure of....dealing with Grimm would be a breeze. Not a minute later, his platform launches him up and over the forest.

After what felt like a lifetime of soaring through the heavens, he decided it's about time to make his decent. Pulling his arms to his sides and tilting towards the treetops, he dives into the green sea. With a large tree closing in straight ahead, Dacre shifts his body so his chest was facing the tree and hits it with his hands and feet allowing his semblance to take over and slide off the trunk and on to the next tree. Once he hit the second tree he stopped himself and observed the forest floor for a moment, seeing several beowolves run towards some sort of commotion. "I guess this is a good a time as any to at least try to make some friends" he told himself  trying to sound excited but unable to hide the reservation in his voice. Without a thought, Dacre slide down the tree trunk and landed on the floor with hardly a sound. He glanced around quickly, making  sure there were no unwanted surprises. Once he was satisfied that nothing was around, he turned and headed in the direction of the pack of beowolves. "Let's find out where these beasts lead me" he mused, with a grin, "This should be a moment to remember."
