Avaria's walk always seemed to intimidate others. Perhaps it was the way she strode with utmost mechanical efficiancy, not caring for emotion or confidence to show in her steps. But today she walked with a different stride. She pretended to be a normal girl, walking around town doing normal things. Her feet would be a dead giveaway as to what she was, which was why she wore shoes over them today, and thigh-high stockings over her gunmetal legs. She also wore a light jacket over her usual outfit, to hide her arms. This operation required care and precision, which was why the leader of the White Fang had chosen Avaria personally. For the purpose of blending in, Avaria left Curse Bearer stashed in an alley that she knew was controlled by her allies.
The girl hurried along through the busy street, headed for a small independant Dust shop. She shouldered her way through a small group of people peering through shop windows, brushing past a couple other girls dressed in school uniforms. At the end of the street, she made her way into her target. The store owner looked up from a magazine he was reading and smiled before returning to the magazine. Avaria quietly made her way to an unpopulated side of the shop, taking a look around to make sure there were no cameras or witnesses.
Seeing none, Avaria lifted the sleeve of her jacket, revealing her forearm. The compartment within slid open, revealing a metal cylinder with several multicolored wires hooked into it. She took the thing out of her arm, allowing the compartment to close itself. Avaria flipped the thing over, checking the timer on the back. It was set for eight minutes. More than enough time for what she had planned. Thumbing the activation button, she deposited the object under a shelf, and left the rest to the manufacturer. Making her way back to the front of the store, she picked a small bag designed for carrying Dust crystals at random. "Hello," she said to the shop keeper, adopting a cheery smile, "I would like this bag, please. It'll go great with my uniform." The shop keeper exchanged pleasantries with her while she purchased the item, then she hurried out of the store and walked into a cafe with a view of the store front, ordering a coffee.
The brown fluid sat in front of her at the window table she had chosen as she pretended to fiddle with her scroll, watching the store she had sabotaged from her peripheral vision. The time had come, and she could see the bomb had been properly made. She looked up from her scroll, an expression of horror plastered to her face even though she internally felt nothing. The store had a perfectly spherical bite taken out of it, brick, foundation, raw Dust, shelves, merchandise and glass all compressed into one tight space about the size of a coin. The violet Dust bomb was something that hadn't been used since the wars so long ago, and its effects were perfect for the kind of terrorism the White Fang had planned. Hitting the store showed that they were through collecting Dust. Now they were acting, ready to start taking things apart brick by brick.
