Beacon Academy certainly measured up to what Avaria could find about it in her data banks, which was a very extensive amount of information. The tall tower at its center was certainly an impressive sight, even for the android who had done and seen many things in her lifetime. She flicked open her scroll and checked the time. She was slightly early, though the person she was supposed to be meeting in the main courtyard seemed the type to be less than punctual, on the few occasions when Avaria had spoken with him. She could have simply read her internal chronometer instead, but she had practiced blending into human soctiety so hard that her small habits would probably never go away. The girl knew she would just have to wait, which made her feel somewhat vulnerable. It was a reasonable response, though, given who she was here to meet.
Avaria looked up from her scroll and saw the hunched form of Beacon's assistant headmaster, a man with whom she'd crossed swords several times. She told herself that she came here on her own terms, but she knew that she'd let herself be talked into it. He was supposed to be taking her to her "team mates" today, students she was supposed to spend her time with. According to her real age, she would probably be put with fourth year students, but given her appearance, she was going to be put into a team with first years. It suited her fine, because she was here to try a chance at a real life, one without the moral grey area of the White Fang. She put a hand on her hip as she waited for the slender man to reach her, using her body language to show her impatience with him at taking his sweet time.
